We all like a good scare from time to time, but I like the kind I can switch off when I want. You know. You’re watching a haunting flick, the scene grows still, the ax is about to drop, and then suddenly…It’s time for popcorn!
Just another reason I love books. When I get squirming, shut the book and catch a breath. Nothing freaks me out more than the unexpected and unexplained. How about you? What get’s you squirming in your seats? We all have our shudder-worthy moments that scare the ‘bejeebers’ out of us. Great books can do that. Here are a few of my favorites:
Hollow City: The Second Novel of Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
Ghost Dog Secrets by Peg Kehret
Shiver (Wolves of Mercy Falls Series #1) by Maggie Stiefvater
Woman in Black by Susan Nill
